Qualifications: University of San Antonio, Bachelors Bilingual Education Lamar University, Educational Administration

Alma Neira

I am honored to introduce myself as the principal of Wortham Oaks Elementary!

I was born and raised in  Laredo, Texas where I graduated from United High School in 2002. I graduated magna cum laude from UTSA in 2008, with a Bachelors in Bilingual Education, and obtained my Masters degree in School Leadership from Lamar University in 2013.

I have over 14 years of experience in education, all of which have been in Judson ISD.  I started teaching at Hopkins Elementary where I taught  kindergarten, 1st, and 4th grade. In 2014, I was a recipient of the Distinguished Educator of The Year Award. Afterwards, I taught at Crestview Elementary, a nationally recognized Blue Ribbon School with an exceptional belief in perseverance and teamwork.  I learned and grew so much from these amazing experiences.

I had the honor of joining the Wortham Oaks family, since its opening  5 years ago as assistant principal. Having the experience of opening a campus and establishing  a strong foundation of beliefs and core values has been invaluable in my growth as a leader.

As we move forward this school year, I am eager to continue our rich traditions and academic excellence. I welcome you to an extraordinary learning community where our staff, students, and families build and maintain positive, productive and professional relationships.
